The Centralaires Concert Band was formed as a result of two reunions of former members of the RCAF (Royal Canadian Air Force) Central Band and the Central Band of the Canadian Armed Forces in 1990 and again in 1993. Retired members from all of these past and present bands, former RCMP Band and Governor General's Foot Guards Band members, as well as music teachers and other talented local musicians have come together to create The Centralaires. Experienced players interested in joining us may contact Rick Nolan 613-745-2663 regarding current openings.
We are fortunate enough to have partnered with Merivale High School here in Ottawa and rehearse on Wednesday 7:30pm-9:30pm during school terms in the music room. Each year we partner with the bands at Merivale High School in a joint concert sharing our love of music. We are conducted by Major Fran Chilton-Mackay and our assistant conductor, David Yensen.
